Filetti e morsi Western
Esistono due tipi di imboccature: il filetti e i morsi che a differenza dei filetti hanno la leva che può essere più o meno lunga.
L'azione di queste due imboccature differisce per le aree del cavallo dove ognuno applica la pressione. Oltre a questi due tipi di bit, ci sono gli hackamores, che generalmente non hanno imboccatura ma agiscono sul naso.
I morsi possono essere spezzati o interi (Mullen). I morsi interi generalmente hanno ponte basso e portano una pressione minima al palato e alla lingua: l'azione di queti morsi è applicata alle barre della bocca, questo bit è considerato relativamente mite.
